Upcoming Food Festivals in Galveston

You can try and convince yourself that your vacation in Galveston is all about the sightseeing and the beach, but we know if you were to be completely honest, it’s really all about the food, just as any good vacation should be! Your annual sojourn is the only time you don’t feel guilty about eating whatever looks good, and a visit to Texas should include as much barbecue as you can stomach!

Galveston, however, isn’t just famous for its delicious barbecue; it’s known for offering a variety of international foods, comfort foods, and seafoods so sweet you won’t be able to get enough! And if you plan your vacation to coincide with one of these upcoming food festivals, you’ll have the opportunity to sample it all in one place.

Galveston Food & Wine Festival, April 20th and April 21st

Nothing tastes better than a gourmet meal prepared by an accomplished chef—unless it’s the same meal accompanied by wine! The Galveston Food & Wine Festival, held at various locations throughout Galveston, offers wine tastings from vineyards around the world and the opportunity to taste the best of Galveston, including a Sunday brunch at the Hotel Galvez or BLVD Seafood.

Blues, Brews, & BBQ at the Pier, June 9th & 10th

Pleasure Pier is the spot for this next tasty festival which offers all its participants a chance to enjoy some good old-fashioned Texas comfort food while listening to live entertainment and drinking ice cold beer. Quite frankly, this festival is one of the most accurate symbols of what to expect from your unforgettable Galveston vacation; we hope to see you there!

Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival, September 28th & 29th

As the heat of summer begins to diminish and the cooler days of fall arrive, the Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival gives us another reason to enjoy this time of year! Featuring amateur and professional cook-offs, a gumbo stroll, and a Lil’ Shrimps Parade, there is absolutely nothing we don’t find wonderful about this annual food festival! Ticket prices range from $12 to $55 per event, and the event is scheduled to be held at Saengerfest Park.

Island Oktoberfest, October 26th and 27th

As even cooler days roll into town, it will be time to throw on your lederhosen, pour yourself a stein of bier, and bite into a fat and juicy bratwurst: Oktoberfest is the time we celebrate everything German! This, of course, includes arts, crafts, and Christmas decorations, in addition to strudels, pretzels, and German wine. This special festival has a little something for everyone!
