Historic Homes Tour – May 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th
The Historic Homes Tour of Galveston takes you inside of some the most pristinely preserved historic homes throughout the island. The tour has been an annual event on Galveston for 43 years! In 2017, the Historic Homes Tour allows you to explore 10 gorgeous historic homes that each feature different architectural styles. You can also upgrade your ticket to enjoy a dinner party, cocktail hour, or brunch event in the homes and rub elbows with the locals. Galveston Island Beach Revue – May 19th – 21st
Inspired by the beachside pageants of the 1920’s, the Galveston Island Beach Revue has reignited the tradition as an annual event since 2009. Taking place at the Seawall, the Beach Revue includes a vintage-inspired Bathing Beauties contest, a beer garden, and a vintage car show. The Galveston Island Beach Revue is a fun blast from the past for the whole family!
31st Annual AIA Sandcastle Competition – June 3rd
Head to East Beach on June 3rd to watch over 60 teams compete to build the most impressive sand castle! The event raises funds for the Houston chapter of the Architecture Institute of America, and the results are certainly architectural marvels! The planning begins months in advance, and the prestigious Golden Bucket award is on the line. This event is a must see!
Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Show – July 4th
Any beachside city worth visiting celebrates the 4th of July in style, and Galveston is no exception! Celebrate America’s birthday by cheering on the patriotic parade that runs down Seawall Boulevard, and then enjoy a stunning fireworks display over the ocean.
