Did you know that vacation food (especially GALVESTON vacation food!) has no calories? You can eat all you want and never gain an ounce. As a matter of fact, you may even LOSE weight when eating your way through Galveston—our food is that magical! Ok, ok, we know you know that we are just being a little silly, but we guarantee you, the restaurants in Galveston serve only the finest meals. You’re going to wish you could bring them home with you! Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best restaurants in Galveston for your dining pleasure.
Leon’s World’s Finest Barbecue
Yup, you’re in Texas now and it would be a sin to start with anything other than barbecue, and we truly think Leon’s IS the world’s finest barbecue! For over 25 years, Leon has been serving cuts of meats so tender, you don’t need a knife, and topping them with a secret sauce passed on to him from his daddy. One taste and you will understand why barbecue is the state food! Location: 55th & Broadway.
Shrimp ‘N Stuff
Because we are still in Texas, but we are also on the water, seafood is ALSO our specialty! A day at the beach is made so much better when you scarf down a shrimp platter at Shrimp ‘n Stuff; we can promise you that! Located on 39th street just a few short blocks from the beach, they do shrimp right!
Number 13 Prime Steak and Seafood
Steak AND seafood? Oh yeah, sign us up! And because sometimes you want to dress up pretty and dine with a view of the water, Number 13 Prime Steak and Seafood is an upscale dining establishment offering all the above and some of the juiciest, most tender steaks you can find this side of the Mississippi! Location: 7809 Broadway.
Farley Girls A Little Bit of Everything Café
Truly offering a little bit of everything, this cafe is only open for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch, but if you want a true taste of Texas, this is one of the best restaurants in Galveston to visit! Our favorite dish is the fried shrimp & grits, but we have yet to find anything on this extensive menu that doesn’t bring a smile to our stomachs! Location: 801 Post Office Street.
Rudy and Pacos
You’re in the southwest now and you cannot leave without sampling some delicious Latin cuisine! Featuring Cuban delicacies, grilled fish, and a flair for creating yummy, Rudy and Pacos has a dress code in the evenings, but at lunch casual is ok! Location: 2028 Postoffice Street, right next to The Grand 1894 Opera House.
