The Galveston Railroad Museum is a favorite attraction for both locals and tourists of Galveston Island, TX. Aside from it’s permanent exhibits and train rides, the museum holds many different kinds of events throughout the year. This fall All Aboard Galveston! will be entering the station and presenting a self-guided tour that highlights the past, present, and future of Amtrak with artifacts, memorabilia, and interactive exhibits.
On Saturday, October 1 from 10AM-5PM, visitors of the Galveston Railroad Museum will have the chance to participate in a one-of-a-kind experience. All Aboard Galveston! is an event designed to showcase the important role the railroad system has played in United States history. In addition to the Amtrak train exhibit, there will be the opportunity to explore the Chuggington Kid’s Depot and meet Mr. Michael R. Haverty, who is the former president of the Santa Fe Railroad. There will also be plenty of food, music, and fun to enjoy throughout the day.

Located downtown, the Galveston Railroad Museum is a must-see for all train lovers. It features an old depot, numerous trains that have been restored, model train displays, and on certain days, guests can hop aboard the Harborside Express for a real train ride. Exhibits include The Peoples Gallery/Depot, The Ghosts of Travelers’ Past, The Panama Railway: Connecting Oceans, and Restaurants on Rails: Dining Cars of the American Railways 1868-1970.
